ANNOUNCEMENT ROCKS DC: AG Jeff Sessions Lied To Congress

BREAKING NEWS: Washington, D.C. is shaken after three of Bob Mueller’s witnesses have revealed that Attorney General Jeff Sessions lied to Congress. Last November, Sessions testified to Congress that he “pushed back” against former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos’ proposal for the campaign to take help from the Russians. At the same time, he claimed that he couldn’t remember if Papadopoulos ever met with Russian operatives.

Now Special Counsel Robert Mueller is ramping up his investigation into Sessions’ involvement as three witnesses have claimed that Sessions lied to Congress.

“Three people who attended the March campaign meeting told Reuters they gave their version of events to FBI agents or congressional investigators probing Russian interference in the 2016 election,” Reuters reports.

“Although the accounts they provided to Reuters differed in certain respects, all threes, who declined to be identified, said Sessions had expressed no objections to Papadopoulos’ idea.”

If the claims are true, this would be the fourth time Sessions lied to Congress and Senate. During his confirmation hearing, he claimed, “I did not have communications with the Russians.” He lied about having contact with Russians during campaign again before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

And before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sessions said that he did not see or hear of anything “that would indicate collusion with Russians to impact the campaign.”

Now Sessions is facing Mueller without any friends. President Trump continues to ridicule Sessions on Twitter and in interviews. Though Sessions recently cowed to Trump’s wishes to fire Andrew McCabe just days before his retirement, Trump has spent the last year fighting with him. All Trump will say if Mueller presses Sessions is that he was right, and Sessions should have never recused himself.
